Msgme Campaign Spotlight: Toyota Yaris – YR SXSW

Campaign Overview:

The Toyota Yaris’ “YR SXSW” campaign is creative widgetry at it’s best along w/ an excellent use of our Futuretxt product. Waterfall collaborated w/ Drill Team to deliver SMS alerts to SXSW attendees, all powered by popular industry blogs. Drill Team took it a step further and customized a “Check Box” widget (see below) to allow folks to sign up for multiple alerts (yes, multiple opt-ins). Also, to be sure folks remember their “must see” shows, an “Itinerary SMS Reminder” feature was built to deliver text messages 60 minutes before each show. An excellent use of Msgme and accouterments.

Mobile Objective:

Keep SXSW attendees informed of shows, updates and perks while they are at the festival in Austin.

Marketing Tactics:

Customize web widget was placed on the Yr SXSW website, an online resource for SXSW 2008. The widget enables folks to subscribe for multiple SMS alerts by selecting their choice(s) and entering their mobile number. After hitting “Submit”, the user receives an opt-in message(s) for the respective alert(s) or Msgme subscription keyword(s).

Widgets were also placed on the blogging sites to help leverage their web traffic and drive subscribers.

An SMS call-to-action will be integrated into all marketing materials at the festival so attendees can text-in, opt-in and stay informed of SXSW happenings. Ex/ Text AUSTINIST to 67463

Mobile Tactics:

Msgme Subscriptions – Five unique subscription alerts were set up for each blog partner. Content will be pushed out to subscribers periodically before and during the festival by the respective blog partner.

Itinerary SMS Reminders – Using the Waterfall’s Futuretxt application, YR SXSW added an SMS alert feature allowing folks to schedule text messages reminders 60 minutes before the start of each event on their itinerary built on the Free YR Radio site.
