Study: Users Addicted to Mobile Messaging
An overwhelming percentage of mobile messaging users admit to engaging in inappropriate or even dangerous behavior to access and respond to email during off hours according to a new consumer study conducted by Osterman Research and commissioned by software firm Neverfail.
Mobile addiction has driven:
- 96 % never leave their phones at home, even on vacation.
- 94 % of respondents use phones to send email or text messages on work nights or weekends.
- 79 % of respondents to send messages from their phones while in the bathroom.
- 71 % admitted texting behind the wheel of a moving automobile.
- 41 % texted on commercial flights while the plane was in mid-air.
Interesting. Strange to hear that people text while driving their car. Must be only while waiting at a stop light.
