Survey says …

Mobile ad spending will be up in 2010, according to Millennial Media’s “State of the Industry” report.

100 leading agencies were interviewed for the study, which found that nearly 75 percent of the respondents have previously developed mobile campaigns for themselves or clients.

The study also determined that,

  • 60 percent of marketers currently not utilizing mobile have a plan to launch mobile advertising programs in 2010
  • Fifteen percent of marketers plan to spend more than $1 million on mobile in 2010
  • 31 percent are planning to spend somewhere between $100k and $249k on mobile next year

When asked about previous campaigns, 78 percent of respondents stated mobile met their campaign goals, and nine percent found mobile to deliver “beyond their wildest expectations.”

Mobile is still only one part of a multi-platform campaign for 89 percent of agencies, but an impressive 31 percent of the agencies surveyed listed mobile as an “indispensable” component to their campaigns.

We say it over and over again here at Mobile Demystified, but it’s true: mobile marketing just keeps on growing.  And the more satisfaction ad agencies get from mobile in terms of ROI, the more this medium will make its way into national advertising campaigns.
